Standing 6-foot-6 and 224 pounds, Green brings a rare blend of arm talent, athleticism and playmaking ability that has made him a focal point of the Razorbacks’ offense since his transfer from Boise State. His decision to stay in the college ranks through the 2025 season has allowed him to continue refining his game while showcasing the tools that appeal to NFL franchises.

Green’s football journey began in Lewisville, Texas, where he became one of the Lone Star State’s most dynamic high school quarterbacks before earning a scholarship to Boise State. After earning playing time early with the Broncos, he transferred to Arkansas in 2024, eager to prove himself in the SEC.

In his first season with the Razorbacks, Green put up impressive numbers, finishing the 2024 campaign with 3,154 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, while adding 602 yards and eight scores on the ground. He didn’t slow down in 2025, leading Arkansas with 2,714 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns, and once again contributing significant rushing yardage as a runner, showcasing his ability to extend plays and make defenders miss in the open field.

Green’s delivered performances that highlight both his arm and legs, including games where he has thrown for more than 300 yards and run for over 100 yards, accomplishing feats rarely seen in Arkansas history. In doing so, Green became the first quarterback in program history to record multiple 100-yard rushing games in a single season, and he has produced several historic performances, including six touchdown passes in a single game, tying for the second-most in school history.

NFL evaluators are attracted to Green’s rare physical profile for the quarterback position. His size gives him natural field vision and leverage in the pocket, and his mobility threatens defenses horizontally and vertically. His dual-threat skill set, underscored by his ability to create big plays with his feet, has drawn comparisons to the evolving modern NFL quarterback archetype.

However, Green’s draft evaluation is not without areas for improvement. Scouts note that while his arm strength is evident, his mechanics and decision-making under pressure require refinement to thrive consistently at the pro level. His average time to throw and progression through reads have been identified as areas where continued development could elevate his draft status.

Still, Green’s physical tools and offensive production in the SEC, combined with his performances in high-profile games and at events like the Senior Bowl, have increased his visibility among NFL personnel. His raw athletic upside and dual-threat potential give teams a tantalizing projection worth investing in.

Strengths

Physical Tools & Size

At 6-6 with long limbs and an athletic frame, Green has rare physical traits for the position.

Playmaking Ability

Extends plays with his feet and creates big gains downfield.

Big-Game Effort

Showcased explosiveness and resilience in SEC competition.

Historical Achievements

First Arkansas QB with multiple 100-yard rushing games in one season.

Weaknesses

Mechanics & Decision-Making

Consistency and reading complex defenses remain areas for refinement.

Pressure Management

Needs to improve throwing under duress for higher NFL accuracy.

Prototype Fit

Not a traditional pro pocket passer, which could affect early draft grade.

Consistency vs. Elite Defenses

Performance varied week-to-week during the 2025 season.

Conclusion

Taylen Green enters the 2026 NFL Draft as one of the more intriguing signal-caller prospects due to his size, dual-threat production, and dynamic playmaking traits. While his path will require continued refinement, his combination of arm talent and athleticism gives him a clear upside projection for NFL teams willing to develop his game.

Draft Nation currently views Green as a mid-round prospect but after his performance at the Senior Bowl, Green could sneak into late Day 2 conversations. In the right scheme, Green has the tools to become a versatile NFL quarterback capable of impacting games with both his arm and legs.
