Bralen Trice

Bralen Trice played high school football for Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, AZ, where he had 16.5 sacks over two seasons, and collected 102 tackles. 247Sports had him listed as the #36 weakside defensive end in the nation and he received 3-star ratings from both ESPN and 247Sports. Bralen Trice did not see action in 2019 and took a redshirt. In 2020, he opted out of the season due to Covid-19. He finally got to see some action in 2021 with the Huskies, playing in 12 games and starting two. He played well in his limited time, collecting 14 tackles, 2 sacks and returning a fumble 72 yards for a touchdown. In 2022, Trice played in all 13 games, starting all but one. He was a dominating force at defensive end for Washington, finishing the season with 9 sacks and 38 tackles. He enters the 2023 season as a Draft 412 preseason First Team All-American. In 2023, Trice started 13 games for the Huskies and tallied 41 tackles and 5 sacks for Washington. Trice has a non-stop motor and battles on each down. He has strong hands that he uses violently to discard would-be blockers. He’s a hard-hitting tackler who moves from side to side fluidly and is very good at chasing down running backs from the backside. He plays through the whistle and will not give up on any play, a trait NFL scouts love. As a prospect, Trice can play the speed game on his rushes or the power game, using his strength to bull rush or stun his opponents. He holds the edge during running plays and does not give up ground easily. Trice is still very raw, however, and after missing both 2019 and 2020, scouts want to see more of him. He has moments where he will play too upright and does not get the leverage he needs. He struggles with wrapping up ball carriers and needs to finish better. Sometimes, he can take poor angles and will over-pursue at times. Bralen Trice plays a style that reminds Draft 412 of Cameron Jordan. Jordan, who now plays with the New Orleans Saints, was once a PAC-12 performer at the University of California. Besides having the same build, Jordan also plays with a non-stop motor and brings a Swiss-army knife set of moves to the table.
