Christian Jones has played in Texas’ zone run scheme for all 6 years of his collegiate career, starting 40 games in that span. He has played both left and right tackle at Texas, though he projects as a right tackle at the next level. While he has the size and power of a pro-level tackle, he has a distinct lack of explosiveness and lateral quickness.
As a pass blocker, Jones is a dependable option, albeit a limited one. His footwork is adequate enough out of the snap to get to his landmarks, and he has the size and reach to be able to get his hands on the rusher first more often than not. His anchor is good, and Jones can sustain his block long enough for the QB to make a play. He has enough body control to stay square and rarely loses control.
