Mahogany was part of a Paramus Catholic team that won the 2016 Non-Public, Group 4 State Championship. He was rated a consensus three-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports and the 2nd best offensive guard prospect in the state of New Jersey by ESPN. He decided to commit to Boston College at the end of his senior season.
After taking a redshirt his freshman season in 2019, he started all 11 games at left guard, playing all 785 offensive snaps. In 2021 he again started 11 games at left guard and was stellar throughout the season, being honored with a Second-Team All-ACC nomination.
After being named to the preseason All-ACC team, Mahogany tore his ACL in the offseason playing basketball and missed the whole season but still made the Lombardi Trophy watch list and is on several All-America lists including Second-Team Pre-season All-American by Draft 412.
In 2023, Mahogany played 12 games for the Eagles looking solid as he recovered from his ACL tear in the previous offseason.
