Connor Colby was a 4-star recruit who played his high school football at John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a dominating tackle who was named first team All-State as a junior and senior. He knew he wanted to play for the Hawkeyes and committed early to Iowa.
In 2021 as a true freshman, Colby played in all 14 games, starting 11 at right guard. His steady play got him selected as a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
Last season, Colby showed off his versatility by starting the first 6 games at right tackle and the last 7 at left guard. In 2023, he started at right guard in 13 games for Iowa and was named as an All-Big 10 Third Team selection.
