Cooper went to Covington High School and was a consensus 4-star from three major outlets. He was the no. 10 prospect in Louisiana and tallied 85 tackles,10 tackles for a loss and a sack during his junior year.
He redshirted in 2020 after playing in all 10 games, mostly on special teams. In 2021, he saw his playing time increase and played in 12 games, starting one. He was fourth on the team in tackles with 58 and also added 0.5 sacks.
In 2022, Cooper played in 11 games, with 8 starts and once again finished fourth on the team with 61 tackles for the Aggies.
In 2023, Cooper has been a dominating player for Texas A&M. He has started all 12 games and has accumulated 84 tackles and has 8 sacks for the Aggies. He had a huge performance against Alabama with 11 tackles and 3 sacks.
