Horsey attended Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida where he helped lead the team to a 9-3 record and a district title in his senior year. He earned a three-star rating from 247sports and rivals.com. Horsey chose Kentucky over Mississippi State, South Florida and Central Florida.
In his first two seasons, Horsey saw just 4 games of action, all coming in his second year. In 2020, Horsey started 8 games for Kentucky and one the comeback player of the year award due to his return from open heart surgery which he had in 2018.
He started each of the games in his next two seasons except for one, and performed well, being named to the 2022 Reese's Senior Bowl watch list. However, he elected to return for his sixth year of eligibility in 2023. He played in just 6 games due to a knee injury.
