Matt Lee is a Center out of Oviedo, Florida and played his high school football at Hagerty High School where he helped the team to a district championship and the first round of state playoffs as a senior. He was ranked as the number 84 offensive guard in the country out of high school by ESPN, and was given a 3-star recruit rating by Rivals.com and ESPN. He had offers from Yale, Harvard, Air Force, Army, and Columbia, but he chose to stay close to home and attend UCF.
In his first season with UCF in 2019, Lee played in 4 games. He redshirted in order to maintain eligibility. In his second year, he started each of the Knights’ 10 games at center and was named First Team All-Conference in the shortened 2020 season.
In 2021, Lee started 12 games at center, missing one game due to injury. He played well once again, earning Third Team All-Conference honors and making himself known as a player to watch for in upcoming drafts. Last season, he solidified that reputation as he was rated as the third-highest center nationally by Pro Football Focus and earned 90.6 pass-blocking grade and 80.6 run-blocking grade in final season with the Knights. After last season, he entered the transfer portal and chose to move on from UCF and went to Miami for this season.
This year, Lee started 12 games at center and earned himself an All-ACC Second Team selection.
