Mohamed Kamara was a four year letterwinner at linebacker for Central High School in Newark, New Jersey and earned second team All-State from NJ.com as a senior, making 132 tackles, including 11 sacks and 6 forced fumbles. Kamara originally signed with Temple but later flipped his commitment to Colorado State.
As a freshman, Kamara played in 8 games and collected 22 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss. In 2020, he started the final 3 games of the season, playing in 4 total. He began to show his skills off the edge and finished with 21 tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Rams.
Kamara continued to show improvement in 2021, starting 3 games, and playing in 10 games. He consistently put pressure on the quarterback and finished the season with 7.5 sacks to go along with 36 tackles and 9.5 tackles for a loss. Last season, Kamara finally had his big breakout year, starting 12 games and he led Colorado State with 8.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss and forced 2 fumbles. He was named All-Mountain West Second Team after his big season.
Kamara has taken his game to the superstar level this season. He has started all 12 games and has set a career high with 13 sacks. He also has collected 56 tackles with 17 tackles for a loss and 2 forced fumbles. His 2023 season has him on everybody’s radar, and he is flying up many teams' draft boards.
