Shemar Turner was a consensus four-star and top ten overall player in Texas while playing at DeSoto High School. He dominated the defensive line for four years and was a first-team all-district in 2019. With many division one offers, Turner decided to stay close to home and play football at Texas A&M.
As a true freshman in 2021, Turner played in eight games and was named to the Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC Team. He gradually played more as the season progressed and finished with 14 tackles, two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
In 2022, Turner started all 11 games he played in and was named the defense’s Mr. Dependable Award at the annual team banquet. On the season, he collected 32 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and ½ a sack for the Aggies.
In 2023, Turner has raised his game. In 12 starts, he has already accrued 33 tackles and has set career highs in tackles for a loss with 10.5 and sacks with six.
Turner decided to come back to play his senior year for Texas A&M and improve his draft stock.
