Ratledge attended Darlington High School in Rome, Georgia, where he competed in football, basketball and track and field. He was a four-star prospect who was selected to play in the 2020 All-American Bowl and was the No.3 prospect coming out of Georgia. He committed to Georgia over Tennessee during his senior year.
As a freshman in 2020, Ratledge only played in one game for the Bulldogs, playing seven snaps. He was named the starter as a sophomore but was hurt after just four snaps in the opener against Clemson. He was diagnosed with a Lisfranc ligament fracture in his foot and missed the rest of the season.
Last season, he started 14 of the 15 Bulldogs' games and was a big part of the offensive line that led Georgia to their 2nd championship in as many years.
Coming into the 2023 season, Ratledge was listed on the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award Watch List, as well as a preseason All-SEC First Team. He has started all 13 games and is being talked about as a solid mid round pick in the 2024 draft. However, Ratledge announced he was returning to Athens for a fifth season.
