Trey Benson

Benson attended O’Bannon High School in Gainesville, Mississippi before transferring to St. Joseph Catholic High School in Gainesville. In his final two seasons combined, he rushed for 3,616 yards and 48 touchdowns. He committed to play football for the Oregon Ducks. Benson missed the whole 2020 season due to a torn ACL and in 2021, he made it onto the field two times, rushing 6 times for 22 yards and 1 touchdown. At the end of the 2021 season, he entered the transfer portal, where he decided to attend Florida State. 2022 was a coming out party of sorts for Benson. He played in 13 games, starting 6 and ran for 990 yards on 154 carries and 9 touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown, showing his versatility on special teams. He was named the ACC Newcomer of the Year and was selected second-team All ACC. In 2023,, Benson rushed for 906 yards and 14 touchdowns, while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. He was also effective out of the backfield for the Seminoles, hauling in 20 passes.
