Elijah Arroyo attended Independence High School in Texas, where he was a consensus four-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. In his two varsity seasons, Arroyo had over 1,200 yards and 17 receiving touchdowns. As a senior, he was ranked the No. 4 tight end nationally after catching 28 passes for 635 yards and 12 touchdowns. He chose Miami over offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Texas.
In his first year at Miami in 2021, he saw action in all 12 games and made one start, hauling in five receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown for the Hurricanes. As a sophomore he saw action in five games before suffering a season ending injury which led to him taking a medical redshirt. On the year, he hauled in five passes for 66 yards.
In 2023, the redshirt sophomore was still battling through the knee injury suffered the season before. He saw action in six games and caught one pass for 11 yards. Arroyo was healthy and ready to go in 2024 for Miami. He started 12 games and hauled in 31 passes 526 yards and six touchdowns. His 17.0 yards per reception were one of the highest in the ACC for a tight end.
