Emery Jones was born in Baton Rouge and attended Catholic High School where he was a standout offensive tackle, helping the football team win back-to-back state championships. He was selected all-district and all-state twice and was invited to play at the Under Armour All-America Game. Jones also played on the basketball team at Catholic High School and was ranked a four-star recruit when he committed to play football for the LSU Tigers.
He became a starting tackle for the Tigers two games into his true freshman season, playing across another true freshman Will Campbell. Jones finished the season appearing in 14 games, 12 as a starter. After the sesaon, he was named a Freshman All-American.
In his second season, he started 12 games and was named second-team All-SEC while helping LSU become a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, given to the nation's best offensive line.
Jones was named one of the top 10 returning offensive tackles for the 2024 season by PFF.
