Jaylen Key

Key attended Amos P. Godby High School in Florida. Over his high school career, he earned a 3-star grade from 247 Sports. He was not very highly recruited and chose to join UAB. Key redshirted in 2018 and played his freshman season in 2019. He made appearances in all 14 games, but only recorded 3 tackles. In 2020, he played in 7 games, recording 9 tackles. As a redshirt junior in 2021, he saw 10 games, recording 6 tackles, 1 pass breakup, and a fumble recovery. He had his breakout year in 2022 as a redshirt senior. He was third on the team in tackles with 60, had three interceptions, 4.5 TFL and two forced fumbles. Following the season, he transferred to Alabama to play his sixth year. This season with Bama, he played 12 games, recording 60 tackles and 1 interception on the year.
