Stovall attended Haughton High School in Louisiana. He had an impressive high school showing, earning him rankings as the top prospect in the state by both Prep Baseball Report and Perfect Game. He chose to join Arkansas following his high school career.
As a freshman with Arkansas, Stovall made an immediate impact, playing 52 games with starts mostly at first base, but also a few at second base. He slashed .295/.373/.425 (average, on base %, slugging), driving in 31 RBI and hitting 8 doubles and 6 home runs.
Last season as a sophomore, Stovall started 38 games at second base before suffering a torn labrum which ended his season. in these 38 games, he slashed .253/.330/.393 and drove in 31 RBI on 4 doubles and 5 home runs.
This year is Stovall's junior season with the Hogs. He will be playing this year after returning from injuries. He expects to take a step forward at the plate after growing a bit in the offseason.
