Yegor Surin was born in Voronezh, Russia. He played amateur hockey for Loko Yaroslavl in Russia. In 2022-2023 he played in 48 games and recorded 12 goals and 19 assists.
Last season, Surin played 42 games and improved his numbers, averaging over a point per game. He finished the season with 22 goals and 30 assists and after the season got a call up to the KHL, where he played his first three professional games and was held pointless.
