In today’s NFL, the quarterbacks are setting new records daily with how much guaranteed money they are being given. Owners and general managers are doing whatever they can do to keep their high priced signal callers healthy. Offensive tackles are the main position that teams are trying to draft or sign to keep their quarterback’s upright. The 2024 draft saw eight tackles selected in round one and 26 were chosen by the end of the draft. Here is a look at the top 10 offensive tackles heading into the 2024-2025 season.

10- Jonah Monheim, USC

Monheim is a fluid mover who battles through the whistle. He has started 34 games at USC and could have been selected in the 2024 draft, but decided to come back to school. He has a strong core and once he latches on to you he is tough to escape. He is better at run blocking than as a pass protector.

9- Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon

Conerly is light on his feet and is a very cerebral player who understands stunts, blitzes and his surroundings. His pass blocking skills are strong and he can get to the second level when needed. Penalties were an issue in 2023 and is an area that needs improvement.

8- Wyatt Milum, West Virginia

Milum allowed 0 sacks in 2023 and has excellent footwork and mechanics when dropping back into his protection. His strength is a little subpar and he needs to get stronger to be able to handle the power rushes in the NFL.

7- Blake Miller, Clemson

Miller is a mauler who will not wow you with his speed or testing skills. He has strong hands and needs to brush up on his footwork and hand placement but has some nice upside.

6- Earnest Greene III, Georgia

Greene is a road grader in the run game and uses his length to hit defenders and move them around. He needs to work on his pass protection and his footwork when he drops back. He may project as a right tackle due to his skillset.

5- Ajani Cornelius, Oregon

Cornelius is one of the most complete tackles in this class. His versatility could move him to right or left tackle. He is strong at both run and pass blocking. Has been a reliable anchor over his past three collegiate seasons. He transferred from Rhode Island and did not skip a beat against the bigger and faster competition.

4- Emery Jones, LSU

Jones is an athletic tackle who has the strength and strong hands to control the offensive line. Fires off with exceptional pad level in the run game but can get a little too stiff and upright in the passing game.

3- Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona

Savaiinaea is a very versatile offensive lineman who has experience at both guard and tackle. He has quick, efficient feet and has the agility to move around the line and has a strong upper body to latch on and move defenders. As much upside as anyone in this tackle class.

2- Kelvin Banks, Jr., Texas

Banks has the look of a day-one NFL starter, and has all the tools necessary to be a good one. He explodes off the ball and is unstoppable in the run game. The one thing he needs to work on is his ability to seal the edge better in passing downs.

1- Will Campbell, LSU

Campbell is the most polished offensive tackle in this draft class. He has the perfect combination of speed, power and agility, and plays with a physicality and competitiveness that is hard to beat. He has the strength to stop power rushers and the speed to get to the second level. He has the potential to be a top 10 pick in 2025.
