Seven weeks into the NFL's 2026 regular season, the rookie class keeps finding ways to make some noise. Three young receivers and one linebacker delivered performances that were off the charts last week, giving opposing coaches plenty to think about when putting together their next game plans.
Some piled up the yardage. Others made the most of just a handful of opportunities. And one defender seemed to be everywhere the football went. That's how first-year players start earning veteran-level respect on the gridiron.
Here are the four nominees for NFL Rookie of the Week honors and the performances that put them in the spotlight.
The first nominee is Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion. The former Texas A&M Aggie was on fire in Cleveland's 27-24 road victory over the Tennessee Titans, giving the Browns a big-play threat every time he touched the pigskin.
Concepcion turned 10 targets into eight receptions for 120 yards, with a long gain of 32 yards. Six catches moved the chains. He also carried the ball three times for 23 yards, averaging 7.7 yards per rush, including an 18-yard run. That's a pretty full day at the office for the 22-year-old.
Concepcion has contributed since the opening week, but he's beginning to look like a player defensive coordinators must account for on every snap. Over the last two contests, the 6-foot, 190-pound receiver has collected 12 catches for 166 yards, helping the Browns secure consecutive victories.
Through seven games, Concepcion has caught 30 of 45 targets for 315 yards, averaging 10.5 yards per reception, with a long of 32. He has added nine rushes for 34 yards. His only lost fumble remains the blemish on an otherwise encouraging rookie stat sheet.
If this production continues, look for opposing secondaries to pay a little more attention to No. 1. The Browns have found another way to put pressure on a defense.
The second nominee is New York Jets wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. The former Indiana Hoosier delivered his second straight big-time performance, even though New York fell 28-25 at home to the Miami Dolphins.
No. 11 caught all five passes thrown his way for 115 yards, averaging 23 yards per reception. His longest grab covered 60 yards, three catches resulted in first downs, and one ended in the end zone. The 22-year-old certainly made his opportunities count.
Cooper's impact is even more impressive considering he missed time after suffering an injury in the season opener. Since returning in Week 6, the 6-foot, 199-pound receiver has given the Jets a legitimate weapon on the perimeter.
Including his 30-yard catch in the opener, Cooper has 12 receptions on 13 targets for 248 yards, averaging 20.7 yards per catch, with a long of 60 and two touchdowns. That's a lot of production in limited action.
If Cooper can stay healthy, defenses around the league will have to make accommodations for this young playmaker in the Big Apple.
The third nominee is Miami Dolphins wide receiver Caleb Douglas. The former Texas Tech Red Raider didn't produce much quantity in Miami's 28-25 road victory over the Jets, but he sure delivered quality.
Douglas was targeted only three times and came away with two catches for 70 yards, an eye-popping 35 yards per reception. His longest gain went for 63 yards. Both receptions moved the chains, and both finished in the end zone. Talk about making the most of your chances.
Douglas had been sidelined since suffering an ankle sprain in Week 2. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver returned with a bang, providing the kind of downfield spark Miami's offense desperately needed.
His season totals now stand at nine receptions on 13 targets for 183 yards, averaging 20.3 yards per catch, with a long of 63 and two touchdowns. The 23-year-old may not need a dozen targets to change a game.
Douglas was a shot of adrenaline for a Dolphins offense that needed one. If he stays on the field, look for Miami to find more opportunities to send the pigskin his way.
The final nominee is Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kendal Daniels. The former Oklahoma Sooner put on a clinic in Atlanta's 29-20 home victory over the San Francisco 49ers, showing what an active linebacker can do to an opposing offense.
Daniels finished with 11 tackles, including nine solo stops and two assists. Add a fumble recovery, an interception returned 29 yards, and a pass defended, and the 23-year-old had one heck of an afternoon on the gridiron.
Daniels has appeared in all seven of Atlanta's regular-season games, and the 6-foot-5, 245-pound defender is beginning to put his stamp on the Falcons' defense. Through seven weeks, he has registered 40 tackles, including 31 solos and nine assists, along with a sack and 3.5 stuffs totaling six yards.
Throw in the fumble recovery, a 29-yard interception return, and two passes defended, and it's easy to see why Daniels belongs in this week's conversation. He's contributing against the run and making plays when the ball goes in the air.
If Daniels continues at this pace, the rest of the NFC South had better take notice. The Dirty Birds are beginning to look like a force to be reckoned with.
