NFC East- NFL Free Agent Additions

Draft Nation dives into the NFC East and how each team has improved so far in 2024.

2023 pitted the Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia Eagles for supremacy in the East. And as it seems like it does every year, the division crown came down to the last week of the season when the Cowboys fended off the Eagles, who had a near-historic collapse at the end of the campaign. Plenty of questions remain for the New York Giants and Washington Commanders as both teams prepare to undergo major changes this offseason. The 2024 season appears to be set up for another Cowboys vs Eagles battle in 2024.

Dallas Cowboys

Re-signed RB- Rico Dowdle to a one-year contract.

Signed LB- Eric Kendricks to a one-year contract.

Re-signed CB- Jourdan Lewis to a one-year contract.

Re-signed LS- Trent Sieg to a one-year contract.

The Cowboys have been very quiet so far in free agency. They have lost tackle Tyron Smith and running back Tony Pollard and will need to fill both of those spots. Dallas will likely seek to find a quality backup quarterback for Dak Prescott who is now on the wrong side of 30.

New York Giants

Signed QB- Drew Lock to a one-year contract.

Signed RB- Devin Singletary to a three-year contract.

Signed WR- Isaiah McKenzie to a two-year contract.

Signed T- Jermaine Eluemunor to a two-year contract.

Signed T- Matt Nelson to a one-year contract.

Signed G- Jon Runyan to a three-year contract.

Signed G- Aaron Stinnie to a one-year contract.

Signed C- Austin Schlottmann to a two-year contract.

Acquired Edge- Brian Burns and a 5th round pick from Carolina for a 2nd and 5th round pick in 2024.

The Giants have solidified their offensive line with their 5 free agent signings already, but they lost running back Saquon Barkley to the rival Eagles and replaced him with free agent Devin Singletary. The team needs to make a decision on quarterback Daniel Jones and decide if they want to use their 6th overall pick on a quarterback or a talented wide receiver to help their ailing offense.

Philadelphia Eagles

Signed QB- Will Grier to a one-year contract.

Acquired QB- Kenny Pickett from Pittsburgh along with a 2024 4th round pick for a 2024 3rd round pick and (2) 2025 7th round picks.

Signed RB- Saquon Barkley to a three-year contract.

Signed WR- Parris Campbell to a one-year contract.

Signed WR- DeVante Parker to a one-year contract.

Signed TE- Albert Okwuegbunam to a one-year extension.

Signed G- Landon Dickerson to a four-year extension.

Signed G- Matt Hennessy to a one-year contract.

Re-signed Edge- Brandon Graham to a one-year contract.

Signed Edge- Bryce Huff to a three-year contract.

Signed LB- Zack Baun to a one-year contract.

Signed LB- Oren Burks to a one-year contract.

Signed LB- Julian Okwara to a one-year contract.

Signed LB- Devin White to a one-year contract.

Signed CB- Tyler Hall to a one-year contract.

Signed S- C.J. Gardner-Johnson to a three-year contract.

Signed K- Jake Elliott to a four-year extension.

Signed P- Braden Mann to a one-year extension.

Signed LS- Rick Lovato to a two-year extension.

The Philadelphia Eagles have had a very productive offseason. They brought in blue chip running back Saquon Barkley and extended interior offensive lineman Landon Dickerson to help stabilize their front after the retirement of future Hall of Fame, Jason Kelce at center.

GM Howie Roseman is trying to address the team's second half swoon last season on defense. He brought back safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to help the secondary and added linebacker Devin White and edge rusher Bryce Huff. Draft Nation thinks that the Eagles will still look to add a cornerback during the draft to help make sure last season's free fall does not happen again.

Washington Commanders

Signed QB- Marcus Mariota to a one-year contract.

Signed RB- Austin Ekeler to a two-year contract.

Re-signed WR- Jamison Crowder to a one-year contract.

Signed TE- Zach Ertz to a one-year contract.

Re-signed T- Cornelius Lucas to a one-year contract.

Signed G- Nick Allegretti to a three-year contract.

Signed C- Tyler Biadasz to a three-year contract.

Signed Edge- Dorance Armstrong to a three-year contract.

Signed Edge- Clelin Ferrell to a one-year contract.

Signed Edge- Dante Fowler, Jr. to a one-year contract.

Re-signed Edge- Efe Obada to a one-year contract.

Signed LB- Frankie Luvu to a three-year contract.

Signed LB- Bobby Wagner to a one-year contract.

Signed CB- Michael Davis to a one-year contract.

Signed CB- James Pierre to a one-year contract.

Signed S- Jeremy Chinn to a one-year contract.

Signed K- Brandon McManus to a one-year contract.

Signed LS- Tyler Ott to a three-year contract.

The Commanders had money to spend and they did not shy away in signing their fair share of free agents during the first wave of the open market in the hopes to improve their squad. They added running back Austin Ekeler from the Chargers and veteran tight end Zach Ertz, which should help ease the transition for their new quarterback that they are most likely to take at the #2 pick.

On defense, they have added linebackers Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner while bringing in a couple edge rushers in Clelin Ferrell and Dorance Armstrong to help fill the void after trading Montez Sweat and Chase Young last season. With a strong draft, the Commanders could turn their ship around quicker than most thought was possible.
