Bryson Nesbit is an athletic tight end from Charlotte, North Carolina. He played his high school football at South Mecklenburg High School and in his junior season, he went for over 500 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Out of high school, he earned a three-star rating from ESPN, and four-star ratings from 247sports and Rivals.com. ESPN had him listed as the nation’s 10th best tight end and the 30th ranked player in North Carolina. He had offers from several power five schools from each conference and chose North Carolina as the next step in his football career.
Early on in his college career, Nesbit was a second string tight end playing limited snaps for the Tar Heels in his first two seasons. In his freshman season, he played in 11 games hauling in just seven passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. He averaged an impressive 22 yards per catch in that season and earned his first career start against Wake Forest. As a sophomore, Nesbit earned more snaps but still was not the starter. He appeared in all 14 games for the Tar Heels and brought in 35 receptions for 507 yards and four touchdowns.
His numbers continued to improve in 2023. In 12 games he hauled in 41 receptions for 585 yards and five touchdowns for the Tar Heels. Nesbit decided to return to North Carolina for his senior season in 2024.
