In Walker’s first season at North Carolina Central, he did not play in any games because of the cancellation of the season due to COVID-19. After his one canceled season at North Carolina Central, Walker transferred to Kent State for the 2021 season. He played sparingly in his first year, catching 5 passes for 124 yards and 1 touchdown. Walker had a breakout campaign in 2022 with the Golden Flashes, starting all 12 games he snared 58 passes for 921 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named first team All-MAC. At the end of the season, he once again entered the transfer portal.
Walker announced that he had decided to transfer to continue playing football for North Carolina and was named to the preseason All-ACC team. The NCAA made a controversial and highly publicized move when they deemed Walker ineligible for 2023 because of him being a two-time transfer, even though he never got to play a snap for North Carolina Central. However, on October 5th, the NCAA reversed course and made Walker eligible for the rest of the 2023 season.
His final numbers over the 2023 season were impressive given that Tez only played 8 games. He had 41 receptions for 699 yards and 7 touchdowns on the year.
