Gabe Hall
Football - DT
Gabe Hall played his high school football at Waller High School where he made 41 tackles, 13.0 TFL and 11 sacks in his senior season. He earned 3-star recruit ratings from ESPN, Rivals.com, and 247Sports. He was fairly highly recruited out of high school as he chose Baylor over TCU, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Colorado, Arizona and Utah.
Hall appeared in 8 games as a true freshman at Baylor, recording 3 tackles including 0.5 TFL in his very limited snaps. Hall missed the final 6 games of 2019 with a knee injury. In 2020, he played in just one game, recording no stats and redshirting heading into 2021.
In 2021, Hall saw 13 games of action and started 8 of them. He recorded 17 tackles in that season while finishing 4th in TFL with 7 and 2nd in sacks with 6. His success carried into last season when he played in all 13 games and made 12 starts at defensive end. He made 36 tackles including 5.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks. His tackles doubled as a result of higher snap share. This productivity had him named Al Big-12 honorable mention and had him on NFL watch lists after last season was up. In 2023, he has played 12 games and has accrued 17 tackles, 3.5 TFL, and 2 sacks.
lead him to lose control at times and take himself out of plays when unnecessary. He does this by attempting to do too much at times, which has also led to injuries in his past. His combination of athleticism and size is rare, and he will need to learn to harness this better in order to be the most effective and efficient version of himself as a player. He is still a bit underdeveloped as a pass rusher due to his adequate, but not ideal mechanics. He does not always create the best leverage, but with his quickness, he can get away with it on occasion. His stature may be great for a defensive lineman, but he will have to add mass before being a piece on the interior in the NFL.
