Jake Briningstool was a consensus four-star recruit and top 100 player in the country at Ravenwood High School in Tennessee. During his prep career, he hauled in 111 receptions for 1,955 yards and 22 touchdowns. He committed to Clemson on January 26th in 2020.
As a freshman, he played in eight games and saw some limited time at tight end. He finished the season with three catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also saw a lot of time on Clemson’s special teams.
Last season, Briningstool saw his playing time increase, and he became a big part of the Clemson tight end rotation. He played in 14 games, starting one and finished the season with 25 receptions for 285 yards and four touchdowns. Briningstoool along with Davis Allen became the first Clemson tight end duo to each record four touchdown receptions in the same season.
In 2023, Briningstool was selected as a 3rd team All-ACC after setting a career high in receptions, yards and touchdowns with 50 for 498 yards and five scores.
Briningstool announced after the season that he was coming back to Clemson for another season.
