Leonard Taylor III

Taylor attended Palmetto Senior High School in Pinecrest, Florida. 247Sports rated him as a 5-star recruit and the #3 overall prospect in the country after he accumulated 51 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 6 passes defended and an interception during his senior season. He was selected to play in the Under Armour All-America Game and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. During this senior season, he committed to Miami, FL over offers from just about every other Division 1 school. As a true freshman in 2021, Taylor played in the final 9 games of the season. He was a disruptive force in this brief time, collecting 21 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. In 2022, Taylor saw action in all 12 games and made 9 starts at defensive tackle for the Hurricanes. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention after compiling 24 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 1 interception. This past season, Taylor battled some nagging injuries and played in just 10 games for the Hurricanes. He finished the season with 1 sack and 19 tackles.
