T’Vondre Sweat attended Huntsville High School where he played both basketball and football, though it was quick to see football was going to be his calling card. He was an all-state and multi-year all-district defensive lineman and was named District MVP in 2018. He was rated a 3-star recruit and committed to stay home and play football for Texas.
As a freshman in 2019, Sweat played in 13 games, logged 9 tackles, broke up 2 passes, had 1 sack, and had 1 fumble recovery. As a sophomore, he became a regular in the rotation and in 9 games, he collected 22 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble.
During his junior season, he played in all 12 games and once again registered 22 tackles, and 1 sack. In 2022, he finally cracked the starting lineup, playing 13 games and starting 9 of them. He set a career high with 30 tackles and added 7 quarterback hurries during the season and was named honorable mention All-Big 12.
Coming into this season, he was named Preseason All-Big 12 Second Team by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele, and this season in 13 games he has 42 tackles to go along with 2 sacks and 8 tackles for a loss.
