Tip Reiman played his high school football at O’Gorman High School, where he won a state championship in 2019. His high school performance earned him a 2-star rating from Rivals.com. He was not very highly recruited out of high school, and he chose Illinois over offers from South Dakota and South Dakota State.
In his first season at Illinois, Reiman played in all 8 games of the shortened 2020 season, mostly on special teams, and had no offensive stats. In his second season, he played in all 12 games, making three starts. He had 3 receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown, while being graded as the 9th best blocking tight end in the Big 10 according to PFF.
Reiman’s first season as a starter came last year where he started all 13 games at tight end for the Illini. He made 19 receptions for 174 yards and a touchdown in these 13 games. He led the Illinois tight end room in both receptions and yards, while once again being one of the best blockers amongst tight ends in the conference.
This season, Reiman was named a team captain and started all 12 games at tight end once again. He had 19 receptions for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns, upping his numbers from last year.
