Chris Stanfield attended Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Florida. He was rated by Perfect Game as the No. 84 player in the country, including the No. 20 outfielder in the class. He was also the No. 17 player and No. 5 outfielder in Florida. He chose to join Auburn following his high school career.
As a freshman, Stanfield played in 50 games and made 40 starts in center field for the tigers. He slashed .280/.364/.409 (average, on base %, slugging) and drove in 22 RBI on 3 home runs, 8 doubles, and 2 triples. He also led the team with 9 stolen bases. He played a great center field, boasting a .989 fielding percentage and 3 outfield assists.
This season as a sophomore, Stanfield is expected to continue his success in center field for the Tigers while taking a step forward at the plate as he grows.
