Griff O'Ferrall

O'Ferrall attended St. Christopher's High School in Virginia. As a senior, he batted .449 with 5 home runs, 26 RBIs, and scored 47 runs. He holds the school record for hits, runs scored and stolen bases. O'ferrall was named Virginia's Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior, and chose to join the Virginia Cavaliers following his high school career. As a freshman, O'Ferrall slashed .308/.406/.366 (average, on base %, slugging), driving in 39 RBI with 2 home runs and 5 doubles. He was selected to the All-ACC Freshman Team. Last season as a sophomore, O'Ferrall improved in just about every statistical category, with a slash line of .396/.453/.495, 42 RBI, 1 home run and 20 doubles. He was a First Team All-ACC selection at shortstop, and earned Third Team All-America and First Team All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). This season as a junior, he aims to match or improve his impressive slash line from last season, possibly adding to his slugging numbers along the way.
