Moore attended C.K. McClatchy High School in California. He posted a .476 career average, and batted .500 with national-best 13 homers, 51 RBIs and 49 runs scored as a senior. He was the number one catcher nationwide according to Perfect Game, and chose to join Stanford following his high school career.
As a freshman, Moore exceeded expectations as he slashed .311/.386/.564 (average/on base %/slugging), knocking in 63 RBI. He hit 15 home runs and 20 doubles in 64 games. He was Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and earned an All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention.
Moore started his sophomore year in a bit of a slump, but still sits in first round conversation approaching this year's draft.
