Harden attended Miramar high School in Florida where he led the country in interceptions as a senior. He was not highly recruited out of high school and chose South Dakota over offers from Illinois State and Middle Tennessee State.
In his freshman season in 2020, Harden started 4 games and made 2 interceptions and 7 pass breakups.
His second season started well as he started 5 of the first 6 games making 25 tackles with 3.5 TFL. He then suffered a season-ending injury in the seventh contest of the year.
In 2022, Harden played 6 more games after recovering from his injury. He totaled 44 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 sack, and 3 interceptions in this span before suffering yet another season-ending injury.
In 2023, Harden was able to stay healthy as he played each of the team's 13 games, tallying 58 tackles, 4 TFL, and 1 interception with 7 pass breakups.
