Willie Drew

Drew attended Smithfield High School in Virginia. As a junior at Smithfield, he accounted for more than 2,600 yards of offense and 31 touchdowns, as well as a team-best six interceptions. He was a 2-star recruit according to rivals.com, and chose to attend James Madison University. Drew redshirted in 2018 and headed into his redshirt freshman year with an extra season of eligibility. In 2019 he played in 7 games, making 8 total tackles and 6 pass breakups. He did not play in 2020 due to COVID and retained another year of eligibility. Prior to the 2021 season, Drew transferred to Virginia State University. In his first season with VSU he played in 8 games making 25 tackles plus 1 TFL and 5 pass breakups. In 2022, he became a starter, playing in 10 games and making 40 tackles. He had 2 TFL and 5 interceptions. He had a similar season this year with 10 games played, 34 tackles, 2.5 TFL, and 6 interceptions.
