Anthony Gould was a 3-star recruit at West Salem High School in Kansas. He had a productive career not only catching passes but also returning kicks. He was a 2017 and 2018 unanimous first-team wide receiver and returner. He had his biggest season as a senior, totaling 1,009 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. He also ran for 612 yards and 6 touchdowns and added 2 touchdown returns on special teams. Gould had several offers but eventually committed to Oregon State.
In 2019, Gould played in 4 games on the special teams unit and redshirted. The following season, he once again played in 4 games and returned 1 punt for 13 yards.
Gould finally got to see the field as a wide receiver in 2021. He played in 13 games, starting 3 for the Beavers. He totaled 13 receptions for 185 yards and 1 touchdown while rushing 5 times for 50 yards and 1 touchdown. He also averaged 10.3 yards per punt return, showing his versatility on special teams.
Gould was named First-Team All-American as a punt returner in 2022. He led the nation with an 18.3 punt return average and returned 2 punts for touchdowns. He played in 10 games, starting 7 at wide receiver for Oregon State. He finished with 27 receptions for 457 yards and 3 touchdowns.
He had his biggest season for the Beavers in 2023, starting 11 games at wide receiver and snared 44 passes for 718 yards and 2 touchdowns. He continued his domination as a punt returner, averaging 16.1 yards per punt return.
