Brian Thomas was a two-sports standout at Walker High School just outside Baton Rouge, excelling in both basketball and football. He earned four-star ratings from ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports. He was selected to play in the 2021 Adidas All-American Bowl, and elected to stay at home and commit to LSU.
In his freshman season, Thomas played in 12 games, starting 9 and caught 28 passes for 359 yards and 2 touchdowns in a productive rookie campaign. Last season, though he appeared in 13 games and started 6 of them, he did not see the rise in production that was expected. He finished his sophomore campaign with 31 receptions for 361 yards and 5 touchdowns.
In 2023, Thomas Jr. shattered his career numbers hauling in 68 receptions for 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Tigers. He solidified himself as one of the top receivers in this draft along with his teammate Malik Nabers.
