Means attended Lovejoy High School in Georgia. He totaled nearly 900 receiving yards with 11 touchdown catches over his final two varsity seasons, earning 3-star ratings from ESPN and rivals.com. He chose to join Tennessee following high school.
Means spent 2019 at Tennessee as a DB, playing four games before transferring to Louisiana Tech to play WR. He did not play in 2020 with LA Tech due to COVID.
In 2021, he appeared in 11 games, making two starts. He made 22 receptions for 430 yards and 2 touchdowns. He then entered his name to the transfer portal for the second time, this time choosing to join Pitt.
In 2022, he played all 13 games for Pitt, making 11 starts at WR. He hauled in 27 receptions for 401 yards and 2 touchdowns.
His fifth year in 2023 was his best season as he made 41 receptions for 721 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year.
