Major attended Central Mountain High School in Pennsylvania. In 2021, he finished 8-1 with a 0.97 ERA and 109 strikeouts as a senior. He helped squad to PIAA District titles in 2018, 2019 and 2021, and chose to join West Virginia following his high school career.
As a freshman, Major made 11 appearances and 5 starts, posting a 3.49 ERA and a 3-0 record. He struck out 31 batters and walked 21 in 28.1 innings of work.
Last season as a sophomore, he made 21 appearances including 3 starts. He finished with a 4.88 ERA, 59 strikeouts and 14 walks in 48.0 innings. He his ERA struggled, but his walks significantly decreased.
This year is Major's junior season. He has taken a starting rotation spot, and scouts are intrigued to see how he fairs in said role.
