Marcus Morgan

Morgan attended Iowa City West High School in Iowa. He had a decorated career there as he collected a program record 294 strikeouts. He was a three-time All-District selection and two-time Conference Pitcher of the Year. He chose to join Iowa following his high school career. As a freshman with Iowa, Morgan pitched mostly out of the pen, making 10 appearances including 3 starts. He wound up with a 7.63 ERA with 26 strikeouts and 21 walks in 15.1 innings. Morgan was vastly improved as a sophomore, making 17 appearances and 15 starts. He held a 3.72 ERA with 72 strikeouts and 51 walks in 65.1 innings. He was a Second Team All-Big 10 selection. This season is Morgan's junior year, and he is expected to take another step forward as he grows.
