Neighbors attended Royse City High School in Texas. On the mound, he was a perfect 7 for 7 in save opportunities while striking out 52 in 21 innings as a senior. He was ranked the no. 26 right handed pitcher and the 55th overall prospect in Texas, and chose to join Kansas State following his high school career.
As a freshman, Neighbors pitched out of the pen, making 9 appearances. He had a 5.40 ERA with 13 strikeouts and 14 walks in just 8.1 innings of work. The season was a struggle for him, but that is mostly attributed to minimal and inconsistent playing time.
Last season as a sophomore, Neighbors took a huge step forward, making 25 relief appearances and holding an impressive 1.85 ERA. He struck out 86 batters and walked 16 in 48.2 innings. Opponents batted just .135 off of Neighbors.
This year is Neighbors' junior season with K-State. He is expected to stay in the bullpen and continue his success in relief.
